FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How long do lash extensions last?
Extensions will grow and fall out at the same rate as which your natural lashes would. An infill is recommended to refill these gaps at the 2-3 week mark which by this time you can expect to have about 40% remaining depending on the client, their natural lash cycle and also the aftercare undertaken.
  • What do they feel like?
When applied correctly using isolation techniques you should not be able to feel the extensions unless of course you are brushing them. We use lightweight extensions that don't excessive weight or stress on the natural lashes.
  • How long does it take to apply a full set of lash extensions?
A fullest of extensions takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours in total depending on how many natural lashes the client has. At B'lashed Beauty we pride ourselves on 100% coverage to achieve the best and most long lasting result every visit.
  • Can I use eye makeup remover?
As for makeup remover most on the market contain certain oils and or chemicals which will break down the bonds of the glue used to adhere the extensions. Instead we do highly recommend using a formulated lash shampoo specifically designed for the cleansing of lash extensions which is sold in salon for your convenience. We do encourage each and every client to be regularly cleansing their lash extensions to avoid premature lash loss, lash damage and or eye infections. The lash shampoo is also a great way to prep your lashes for an infill, this ensures your new lashes hold better and are applied to clean lashes.
  • Can I wear makeup to my lash appointment?
Your lashes must be clean arrival to your appointment and have no residue from makeup or oils. Avoid wearing water proof mascara in the days leading into your appointment. Wearing eye makeup or applying moisturiser within 24 hours of your appointment can have a negative effect to the glue, causing the lash extensions to not stick to the natural lashes. Make the most of your appointments by thoroughly cleaning your lashes beforehand.
  • Can I wear mascara after eyelash extensions?
No! Wearing mascara on your extensions will lead to lashes clumping together, various eye infections if left overnight, lash damage and premature extension loss.
  • What maintenance is required?
We would recommend you brush your extensions daily so that your natural lashes can continue to grow in the right direction. Cleanse your lashes at least twice a week with lash shampoo to avoid eye infections, oil and makeup build up and premature extension loss. Book an infill within 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness.
  • How long does it take to get refills?
Approximately 45-75 minutes depending on the amount of lashes you have lost.
  • When can I not have eyelash extensions applied?
If you have any eye irritations or infections, have experienced allergies in the past, or you are currently taking Accutane or Vitamin A.
  • How do I take care of my extensions?
Remove all eye makeup thoroughly before your appointment including infills to provide a clean canvas for your new lashes to be applied to. Keep your lashes dry (no sweat, steam, water, moisture or high humidity) for 24 hours following your appointment. Use only water based makeup removers and lash cleansers (sold in salon) Oily/cream based products will cause your extensions to fall out prematurely. No mascara. No eyelash curlers. Avoid rubbing, touching, sleeping on your face or playing with your eyelash extensions (our fingers have natural oils in them which can cause the glue to break down at a quicker rate than normal) Use a tissue to blot dry lashes after washing your face. Make sure you pre-book your next eyelash refill every 2 – 3 weeks.
